Styles P: The Lox and D-Block Legend

Rapper, songwriter, and entrepreneur, Styles P, is one of the most successful and influential figures in the hip-hop industry. While many know him for his work as part of The Lox and D-Block, his career has been defined by a wide range of achievements and accolades that have made him an icon in the rap game.

Born David Styles in 1975, Styles P grew up in Yonkers, New York. He quickly developed an affinity for rap music and released his first mixtape in 1994. He was soon signed to Bad Boy Records and contributed to the label’s iconic Bad Boy Family Album.

In the late 1990s, Styles P formed the hip-hop group The Lox with Jadakiss, Sheek Louch, and, Jadakiss. The group released two studio albums, Money, Power & Respect (1998) and We Are the Streets (2000), which were both certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

In 2003, Styles P left The Lox to form D-Block, a rap collective featuring Sheek Louch, Jadakiss, and several other artists. D-Block released numerous mixtapes, which gained the group a loyal following.

In addition to his work with D-Block, Styles P has released seven solo studio albums, including The World's Most Hardest MC Project (2012) and Float (2013). In addition to his music career, Styles P has acted in several films, including Red Hook Summer (2012) and Marvel's Luke Cage (2016). He has also written two books, Invincible: The Chronicles of Steve Rogers (2016) and The Reason: The Truth About Why We Do What We Do (2018).

Styles P’s career accomplishments have also extended to the business world. He has launched two clothing lines, Invincible Brand and Splashy Splash, and has been named one of Hip Hop’s Most Influential Businessmen by Forbes magazine. From his groundbreaking work with The Lox and D-Block to his successful business ventures, Styles P is a true hip-hop legend. He has earned a place in the pantheon of rap legends, and his influence will continue to shape and influence the sound of hip-hop for years to come.
