Celebrating AZ: Hip Hop's Mr Immaculate

In the epic times of hip hop history, there are a select few whose impact reverberates through the ages, leaving an indelible mark on the culture. Among them stands AZ, a Brooklyn-bred lyricist whose artistry and raw talent have solidified his status as a legend in the game.

Born Anthony Cruz on March 9th, 1972, in Brooklyn, New York, AZ's journey into the realm of hip hop began with humble origins. However, his talent and dedication would soon propel him into the spotlight, where he would carve his name into the fabrics of rap history.

AZ's breakthrough moment came in 1994 when he made a memorable appearance on Nas' seminal album, "Illmatic." It was on the track "Life's a Bitch" where AZ delivered a verse that would go down as one of the most iconic in hip hop history. His smooth delivery, dope flow, and lyrical content showcased a raw talent that demanded attention.

Following his standout performance on "Illmatic," AZ wasted no time in making his mark as a solo artist. In 1995, he released his debut album, "Doe Or Die," a timeless classic that solidified his place as a top tier lyricist. Tracks like "Sugar Hill" and "We Can't Win" showcased AZ's lyrical dexterity and laid-back flow, earning him critical acclaim and a devoted fanbase.

Not content with resting on his laurels, AZ joined forces with fellow luminaries Nas, Foxy Brown, and Nature to form all-star group The Firm. Together, they released one self-titled album in 1997, further cementing AZ's reputation as a force to be reckoned with in the hip hop world.

Throughout his illustrious career, AZ has collaborated with some of the genre's most esteemed artists, including Raekwon of the Wu-Tang Clan, Fat Joe, and SWV. His ability to hold his own alongside these legends speaks to his skill as a top-tier lyricist with one of hip hop's most dynamic, slick flows in the game.

Beyond his musical contributions, AZ is a true embodiment of hip hop culture, embodying its essence through his authentic storytelling and his incredible flow. His impact on the genre cannot be overstated, a true legend of the game with a unique career spanning over three decades, AZ is up there with the very best when it comes to talent and flows. And for his telling contributions to hip hop we salute AZ as a true hip hop legend, a product of hip hop’s golden era.

What is Lorem Ipsum? Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum. Why do we use it? It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).
